YOUR SUID

Your Syracuse University I.D. card (SUID) contains a unique Syracuse University Identification number that is issued ONLY TO YOU.

Each of the magnetic stripes on the reverse side of the card has special functions and may be used in various University card reader devices located throughout the campus. The card can be used at a number of campus facilities including Food Services dining facilities, University residence halls, some academic buildings, recreational facilities, the Schine and Dome box office, and the University's vending machines.

Your I.D. card works much like cards used at automatic teller machines (ATMs). Electronic card readers are found in each dining center, University snack bars, all residence hall entrances, the entrances to Archbold and Flanagan Gyms, University libraries, and certain academic and/or administrative buildings. When the card is inserted into a reader, the information is quickly scanned. The card reader then displays your balance or confirms or denies your eligibility for campus privileges.
